Ghana's Sports Minister meets FA over recent poor results by national teams

Ghana’s Sports Minister Clement Kofi Humado will hold crisis meeting with the Football Association on Wednesday following the country’s slide in international matches.

This year has been dreadful for junior national teams who have burned and crashed in competitive matches.

Ghana will not be represented at the 2012 London Olympic Games due to the failure of the Black Meteors and the Black Queens to book a passage in the next phase of the qualifiers.

The Local Black Stars were shamefully bundled out of the 2011 CHAN tournament in Sudan while the national Under-17 team failed to qualify for the African U-17 Championship.

Last Sunday, the Black Satellites were the latest to compound the misery after exiting in the group phase of the ongoing African Youth Championship in South Africa.

The Sports Minister will be seeking answers from the federation as the two parties meet on Wednesday.

“The minister will be meeting up with the GFA to find out what has hit the national teams because the situation is very worrying for football loving fans and he’s determined to find out what’s happening,” Sports Ministry Public Relations Officer Michael Akwasi Sarpong told Citi Sports

“The meeting will be held in a cordial atmosphere because we’re all stakeholders and so should be worried at the latest trend.”

I was just thinking Nyantakyi and his cohorts should be calling on Fifa to come to their aid because the Government has started interfering in the affairs of the GFA .What an irony that the GFA should agree to meet the minister to find solutions to the downwards trend of our foot ball instead of calling that government interference. Who says we can sit unconcerned about the trend of our football all in the name of Fifa wrath? I also just read some medicine after death comments from legends POLO and C.K Gyamfi. Why are they sitting down to see the trend of our football depreciate to this extent before coming to complain? even then, what are their proposed remedies for this decline?good friend Kenneth County. Maka Maka. Coach, Real Sabacoius,Keith from Germany,Truth is bitter,Jah Prophet and a host of forumites with good ideas, come, rise and lets fight with the pen to restore our football dignity. This is our only weapon and don’t forget this thieves at the GFA always read our comments here and this is the only way to make them change for the better.cheers
