Pantsil will be out of action for six weeks

Ghana defender John Pantsil is doubtful for next month’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan after being ruled out of action for six weeks.

The Black Stars host the Nile Crocodiles on 22 March in a must-win game for the Black Stars.

Doctors have ruled that he will be out of action for six weeks to be able to start training.

This means Paintsil will return to training on the 18 March, just four days before the match is played most likely in Kumasi.

With no match fitness before the squad is called the experienced right-back is unlikely to be considered for the match.

The only chance for Pantsil to be involved in the match against Sudan is if he makes a quicker-than-expected return from injury.

The right-back suffered the injury while playing in Wednesday’s semi-final of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

His club Hapoel Tel Aviv will miss his services for their upcoming matches in the Israeli Premier League.

Do you guys have to repeat that the club will miss the services of an injured player? Is it not natural? What kind of articles are you guys writing.

  2. Liz Naa says:

Are u guys doctors or members of the black stars technical team to determine who plays in a match that will take place in 6 weeks time? Spare us these stupid and propaganda articles. Spare us this your negative campaigns against some players.

  3. African Consciousness says:

I thank Paintsil for his hard work during AFCON 2013 but that should be his last tournament for the Black Stars, forget about the World Cup and focus on your Club duties. He should make way for Akaminko or another younger right full back. Speedy recovery my friend.

  4. Dr Who says:

Its unfortunate our problems and woes started just after Painstils injury against Burkina.I will miss him but we can win our home game against Sudan without him but will certainly require his experience in the away leg.
