German coach Joachim Loew has grand plans for the 2014 World Cup

Ghana’s World Cup group opponents Germany have revealed a stunning expensive plan for their group matches in the tournament by building their own training base in Brazil during next year’s competition.

The three-time World Cup winners will use their own purpose-built training base in Brazil during next summer’s finals showing how much the Europeans are willing to spend on the tournament.

The Black Stars, who were drawn with the Europeans in Group G of the tournament in South America, will have to make do with the training base given by FIFA despite the travel difficulties as Ghanaians cannot afford the expensive plan of the Germans.

The under-construction venue, which will be developed by a Munich property firm, will cover 15,000 square metres and will have 60 bedrooms, a training pitch as well as a fitness centre.

A football youth academy and an orphanage will also be built on the site, 30km north of Porto Seguro.

The DFB said the Campo Bahia base is within two hours’ flight of the three cities – Salvador, Fortaleza and Recife – where Germany will play their Group G games at the tournament.

This revelation shows how Germany are seriously taking the tournament by splashing money on the preparation and participation in the competition in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

This flies in the face of complains by some Ghanaians about how much government would spend on the competition even though the Black Stars budget will come no where near what the Germans are planning to splash on the competition.

The German Football Association (DFB) said it is not funding the project.

Joachim Low’s team face Portugal on 16 June, Ghana on 21 June and the United States on 26 June.

“Bearing in mind the size of the country and the considerable distances between each tournament venue, it was important for us to minimise the strain of travelling to and from matches as much as possible,” said Germany national team manager Oliver Bierhoff.

“Acclimatisation and recovery will also play a major role at this World Cup, and our camp offers ideal conditions in these respects.

“Due to the early kick-off times and the heat and high humidity expected in Salvador, Fortaleza and Recife, we looked for a base where the players could adapt effectively to the kind of things they can expect to encounter during each match.”

Coach Appiah, greetings to you. I am not sure if you’re able to read my piece but a couple of my guys all made some suggestions which i agree with.

Is it possible for us to try out the 5-3-2 B or 3-5-2 formation? Basically, it is 3 central backs, and 2 wing men who will alternate between the flanks and midfield, while they provide support to lateral side of defence. And then 3 midfielders and 2 forwards.

LWB/LWM–Kwadwo has excelled in this role and can execute the job at left side. A player who has speed, can track back, and has good control and possession can take the right side. I’ll keep my suggestions to myself :-)

    The three midfielders can be drafted to play;

1.traditional role with one being used as CAM.
2.traditional role with one being used as CDM(Will help tigthen backline)

We have world class men for above proposal.

Attack needs no further emphasis… babyjet is on fire, he will blend well with three promising attackers(names withheld :-) )

NOW,Our strength can come from three strong defenders.. I know we have all being talking about our defensive system but with I.V,J.B,J.M,J.M,J.A,R.S as central defenders, I believe three experienced strong men among them can be drafted to do the job at the highest level.

KWARASEY VS DAUDA…to be continued :-)

Who said our group members aint scared!! …Get outta ya dreams fella’s. We can win our group with hard work and great prep.

Congrats Coach Appiah! and yeah we wanna see Tornado on the bench giving support to the gallant men.

Let’s beat my resident country for the third time!
    Oseeeeyyy GHANA!

(btw: This is just a constructive suggestion, no insults fellas ..lol)

    Cheers!

    My two cents :-)

It will be a shame if they fail to qualify!

  3. spellBOUND says:

HAHAHA, money can sure make decisions easy. this has the potential to blowback in their faces especially for a team that is charged with reaching the final or this will be considered a failed campaign….. GSN, please spend ur time on studying your opponents, and leave them to focus on other minut things.

we will see who laughs last.

  4. keith from germany says:

The germans here are realy pissed with the idea of building a training complex.
Germans are saying it is very direspectful n a big insults to the brazilian nation becuz by the german action of building their own training camp it shows that they dont appreciate
What the brazilians have presented to them.
Becuz of this arrogance n big man show attitude of german national team, the german fans are wishing their team bad luck so that they will be eliminated in the group stages.
They are saying the money can be used for something else but not on these good for nothing soccer millionaires.

  5. Viper says:

They can even bring their own air and nobody really will give a damn….

  6. Assemblyman says:

It looks like a serious business for the Germans. What if after everything and they dont win the World Cup.Then they should ask themselves what purpose this money wasting Training Complex served?I think someone will stand a trial of causing deliberate financial loss to the German State. This is football and not a war..Do the Germans think they can go lift the World Cup at the expense of Brazil with all the home support and motivation at the advantage of the Brazilians..Hahaha…2006 slipped through their fingers after all the motivation they got..so now is the time for them to win the world cup on the home soil of the Brazilians.Smh!.These Germans have got to be kidding me.. Hahahahaa

  7. Kweku says:

If them like make them go build their own stadium there we dont care. Football Na ground we go Show them pepper.

  8. Papa Nkrumah says:

It appears their plan wasn’t as well thought out as one would have expected of Germany. The plan is superb for the group stages where they will be based at one place and travel easily to the match venues. But what happens when Germany is second in the group and has to travel away from their base (considering how Brazil is so huge). Or what happens when Germany is third in their group (because they can actually lose their first match against Portugal and find themselves chasing the rest of the matches to catch up). And Ghana now has amazing counter-attacking players.
