South Africa will start their training camp ahead of the Afcon in Equatorial Guinea without seven of the European based players who are yet to join the camp in Johannesburg.

The players who have yet to arrive are goalkeeper Darren Keet,  Andile Ngcongca, Dean Furman, Andile Jali, Thulani Serero,  Ayanda Patosi and Tokelo Rantie.

The other players will join the team earlier but some will join the team after the final team announcement on Tuesday.

Those include Serero and Furman, who will only join the team in January.

The team will hold their first training session at the University of Johannesburg this morning and head coach Shakes Mashaba will announce the 23-man squad on December 30 at the World of Beer in Johannesburg.
