Ghana's Annan sorry over biting incident

Ghana international midfielder Anthony Annan and Norwegian striker Tor Hogne Aarøy have expressed regret over their recent clash during a game.

Annan, who plays for giants Rosenborg, was consistently barracked by Aalesund striker Aarøy during last week's league game which resulted in a scuffle on the blind side of the match official.

There were some exchanges with Aaroy claiming he was bitten three times by the Ghanaian but Annan insisted that he didn’t bite the player but his shirt lodged in his mouth accidentally.

Even though the Norwegian FA decided against taking action over the incident the two have been on the phone to talk over the issue and they ended up apologizing.

"What we did was not fair play we have decided to put this issue behind us," Annan said.

Annan, known for his cool demeanour, said the player tried to infuriate him since the start of the game but he snapped when the striker called him a “fucking African” which infuriated.

Aaroy denied making those comments saying he had lively exchanges with the player but was shocked when the Ghanaian player tried to bite him into submission.

Annan was voted the best player by supporters of his Norwegian club last season.
