Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations squad arrived in Abu Dhabi on Saturday morning to begin preparations.
Twenty three (23) players instead of 25 were met the deadline set by head coach Kwesi Appiah.
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan and midfielder Andre Ayew were the only absentees.
Gyan sought permission from the coach to arrive later in the evening as he held a family meeting to plan for his mother’s funeral.
Ayew was unable to join the camp by the set deadline because of the hamstring injury he had while training with his club, Marseille.
Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey, Albert Adomah, Christian Atsu, John Boye and Derek Boateng joined the squad in the morning from different locations in Europe.
The Black Stars will train in Abu Dhabi for 11 days two friendly matches against Egypt and Tunisia.
Ghana will play DR Congo, Mali and Niger ahead in Group B of the tournament in South Africa.
HO..AA SHOULD LEAVE KASA AT HOME OR BACK IN JUVE WHERE HE BELONGS. IN OVR 40 APP FOR GH, THIS GUY HAS SCORED 1 GOAL N 2/3 ASSISTS. WE DONT NEED TO SEE FURTHER DUPLICATION OF SUCH ABYSMAL PERFORMANCE AT AFCON 2013. PLS…
Mmmh….
Ok
just tell me, who are the north africans in our group? in this 2013, is that how scientific our prep is going to be?
Gh fou you can’t be serious suggesting Appiah should leave Kwadwo Asamoah out of the team unless I misunderstood what he’s arguably Ghana’s top performer in Europe this season he’s a classy player and always an asset.
Why doesn’t Gyan celebrate when another player scores? I wonder. Maybe his new status as the skipper will change that. Maybe.
