Ghanaian youth Osei excels in Marseille friendly draw

Posted On Tuesday, 16th October 2012

Kevin Osei in action for Olympique Marseille

French-born Ghanaian young midfielder, Kevin Osei, came off the bench to play a part in Olympique Marseille’s 1-1 drawn warm-up game with Ligue 2 side Istres on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old came off the bench at the start of the second stanza to replace Loic Remy and hugely impressed Marseille boss Elie Baup.

Osei has been confirmed in the Olympians’ first team squad for the season but he is yet to make an appearance.

He was initially included in the 2011 Ghana U-20 team but was dropped from the finals because of documentation issues.

Compatriot Jordan Ayew started the game for Marseille before being replaced later in the second half.

WOW !! Kevin was rated higher than Jordan in their junior side, in fact he was their captain. I can’t really understand why it has taken him so long to join the senior side. A very good player.
Anyway, congratulations to Kevin Osei. We shall be monitoring your progress.

  2. Nii says:

He has not been called cos he is a midfielder
