Daniel Kofi Agyei wants to focus on Fiorentina pre-season

Ghanaian youth midfielder Daniel Kofi Agyei wants to focus his attention on impressing at Fiorentina's pre-season and not where to play next season.

Agyei, 21, has been picked by new Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella for pre-season and has featured in two games for La Viola.

The ball-battling midfielder is the only Ghanaian in Fiorentina's pre-season squad with compatriots Maxwell Boadu Acosty and Nii Nortey Ashong all away.

Acosty has joined fellow Serie A side Chievo Verona on a season-long loan deal while Nortey Ashong might be farmed out to a Serie B side.

The powerful midfielder who is cast in the mould of Michael Essien is also widely expected to be loaned out but he insists he wants to stay focused on pre-season until any such move comes into light.

"I don't know where I'm going yet. The pre-season is good and I want to focus on it," he told Ghanasoccernet.com.

He spent last season on loan at Serie B side Juve Stabia where he made 18 league appearances.
