Ghanaian youngster Zak Ansah is in line to start for Plymouth in this weekend game against Shrewsbury.
Manager John Sheridan has taken the decision with the Pilgrimsââ¬â¢ probable involvement in the League Two play-offs in mind.
Reid will instead receive treatment for a foot injury which has troubled him over recent months.
On-loan Charlton Athletic striker Zak Ansah is set to replace the 26-year-old in attack against already promoted Shrewsbury.
Sheridan said: ââ¬ÅReuben wonââ¬â¢t be involved. I feel confident enough that I can give him a bit of a rest. He has had an injection in his foot. It is à Zak Ansah for this one ââ¬.
Ansah who was born in London to a Ghanaian father working for Arsenal featured for the Gunners Youth team before joining Charlton Athletic he signed for Plymouth Argyle on a short loan deal last month.
