Ghanaian starlet Isaac Donkor expressed his joy in featuring for the Inter first team in a friendly match against Locarno on Saturday afternoon.
The centre-back featured for a full 90 minutes as the Nerazzurri went on to claim a 3-0 victory over the Swiss outfit.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be playing alongside these great players,” he told Inter Channel.
“I can’t describe what it feels like. It was a good game. I’m glad to be here and I hope to get more opportunities to show what I can do.
“What’s the most difficult aspect of playing with the senior side? Maintaining the right level of concentration.
“You only need to drop your guard for a split second and that can lead to a mistake, which for a defender often means conceding a goal. You must always try to be first to the ball, although that’s the same whether you’re playing with the first team or with the Primavera.”
Donkor tucked in alongside Walter Samuel in the backline and he admits the Argentine has been a great help in his development.
“What’s it like playing alongside Walter Samuel? He’s so good,” added the youngster. “When you play with him you’re always focused and he gives you lots of advice. He’s a huge help, you can really learn a lot from him.”
