Manchester United are on the verge of sealing a move for young Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Timothy Fosu Mensah according to widespread reports in the UK.

The 16-year-old was at United’s Carrington training grounds on Thursday ahead of his sensational move.

Fosu Mensah’s move to the English giants is informed by his impressive outing at the AEGON Future Cup tournament with Ajax in April.

He is reportedly going to cost United £300,000.

Manchester City and Inter Milan are also said to be interested by United’s Dutch manager Luis Van Gaal has gotten the headstart and is now on the verge of tying up the deal.

Fosu Mensah’s preferred position is left-back but can play as a center half as well as in defensive midfield.

He has played for the junior teams at international level for the Netherlands which makes him still eligible to play for Ghana.
