Ghanaian youngster Boateng signs new Arsenal deal

Posted On Thursday, 17th November 2011

Daniel Boateng has extended his contract with Arsenal

Arsenal have announced teenage defender Daniel Boateng has agreed a contract extension.

The versatile 19-year-old, who can play at centre-back or on the right, made his first-team debut in October, when he featured as a substitute against Bolton in the Carling Cup.

Arsenal have high hopes for Boateng and he has been a prominent player in their reserve setup.

Boateng joined the Gunners’ Academy eight years ago and signed professional terms in the summer of 2010.

Arsenal said in a statement: “Everyone at Arsenal football club looks forward to Daniel’s continued progress in the coming years.”

19 yrs is good enough to be capped before England repeated Welbeck’s incidence.
what keep playing in mind is the fact that, he featured in a friendly against his native country. GFA should organize a friendly against a strong national side, and invite all the foreign born talents, select the best and leave the rest till they are fully matured.
