English-born Ghanaian teen Nana Boakye-Yiadom was allowed a place on the Barnsley substitute bench on the final day of the English Championship but he could not mark his debut as The Tykes were condemned by QPR.

The 17-year-old warmed the bench and closely followed the game as Queens Park Rangers deepened Barnsley's woes after beating them 3-2 at their Oakwell Stadium home grounds.

Boakye arrived at Barnsley from Premiership side West Ham United at the second half of the season on a loan deal but was limited the Barnsley Reserves side.

But on Saturday afternoon manager Danny Wilson handed him a place in his 18-man squad for the game but was unused. While he was benched, Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong could not make the first team squad for the game.

The young midfielder is expected to return to West Ham United as the Championship season has ended.
