Ghana youth international Afriyie Acquah has made his first appearance in the Italian Serie A on Sunday when his side Palermo lost 4-2 to Fiorentina.
The 19-year-old came off the bench to replace Giulio Migliaccio in his debut in the top-flight of European football.
The midfielder has been a revelation in the youth ranks of the club which prompted the coaches of his team to hand him his first game in the tough league.
His first appearance could pave way for the youngster to play more matches for Palermo.
Coach Delio Rossi promoted Acquah from the primavera side (youth team) after the winter break.
He can play as a holding midfielder and on the right flank as well.
Acquah is a member of Ghana’s Under-20 team that will be playing at this year’s African Youth Championship in Libya.
