Dutch Eerste Divisie side Fortuna Sittard have been boosted by the imminent return of Ghanaian striker Patrick Amoah from injury.

The Swedish-born Ghanaian returned to training this week after spending two weeks on the treatment room with a calf problem.

Sittard manager Wil Boessen observed the player's progress on Monday and has told him to improve his match fitness by playing a game over the weekend with the club's second string side.

The 27-year-old has played 22 times for Sittard this season in the league and netted four times in all competitions.

Amoah moved to Holland from Belgium after helping OH Leuven gain promotion and later joining White Star in the Second Division.
