Ghanaian striker Kwesi Appiah has returned to English side Crystal Palace after the completion of a month’s loan at Yeovil Town.

Appiah made one start for the Glovers, and manager Gary Johnson said he could not guarantee The Eagles that he would get regular games in South Somerset.

Johnson had also secured the signing of Burnley striker Wes Fletcher on a one-month loan before the weekend.

“Kwesi is going back,” said Johnson. “We brought in Wes Fletcher and it wouldn’t be fair to keep Kwesi here and not play him.

“Crystal Palace wanted him playing games and he was unlucky that we had the eight wins and obviously couldn’t use him or play him.

“He understands that and we could revisit it at a later date but at the moment he needs to play games and he won’t be in my first two.

“Wes has came in, he’s only a young lad, he’s happy to bide his time and wait for his opportunity and I know we will like him when we get to see him.”
