Ghanaian striker James Owusu has failed trials at FAZ Super Division leaders Zesco United.
The club revealed on Wednesday that it won’t sign the 28-year-old striker who arrived at the Ndola side on August 19.
Owusu has played in Mexico and Belgium.
“Zesco United Football club would like to announce that the Ghanaian striker who had been attending trials at the club is this week returning to his country as he has not been signed on as a professional footballer,” the club said in a statement.
The striker failed to impress the Tenant Chembo-led Zesco technical bench.
“As a club we would have liked to sign on Mr Owusu but the Tenant Chembo led technical bench has advised that we let him go and allow him to try other clubs.”
“We regret to let him go as we would have used his experience but he has been disadvantaged by his age which has seemed to slow him down as the club currently working at recruiting young footballers,” the statement added
