Ghana-born Kofi Sarkodie had his Major Soccer League title hopes dashed on Saturday as LA Galaxy beat them 3-1 in the Cup final.

The 21-year-old center-half played 77 minutes for Houston Dynamo as they threw away a precious lead to lose to a star-studded Galaxy side at The Home Depot Center.

Striker Calen Carr opened the scoring for Houston with a minute to half-time but Omar Gonzalez and Landon Donovan scored on the 60th and 65th minute marks to put Galaxy ahead before Robbie Keane cemented the win with a 94th minute penalty.

Sarkodie was a member of the U.S. U-17 in the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup and has been capped by the American U20 side.

He scored once in 16 appearances for Dynamo in the MSL season.
