Ghanaian sensation Gyasi thrills FC Twente fans in Holland

Posted On Wednesday, 21st November 2012

Gyasi, right, set up a goal for FC Twente in their 1-1 draw with FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie game

Dutch-born Ghanaian winger Edwin Gyasi has won the heart of FC Twente fans with his heroics for the Dutch side.

Gyasi, 21, was handed his second start of the season by Steve McClaren against FC Utrecht and he hugely impressed in the 64 minutes he lasted on the pitch.

He was involved in the nice sequence of play that ensured Willem Janssen put The Tukkers into the lead in the 2nd minute minute.

Though the Utrecht test was just his fifth outing of the season for Twente, his extraordinary pace, antics and physique has won him the hearts of Twente fans.

Gyasi outruns his marker

The Tukkers fans have swarmed the club’s facebook page to express their satisfactions with the youngster’s cameo.

Gyasi was born to Ghanaian parents in Amsterdam and has not been capped by the Dutch national team.

The former AZ Alkmaar academy graduate was reportedly pursued by 2009 Ghana U20 technical handlers.

GFA is waiting for the Dutch national coach to call the boy before they act. We have lost talents to foreign countries and the lesson is not well learned.

  2. obiba jk says:

The Gyasi play like Ramirais of Chelsea full of athletic and energy , that is what Ghana need at the moment . Not slow slow players like Kwadwo Asamoah who cannot score neither take on defenders or give accurate pass

    • Askantwi says:

Obiba KWASEA JK, Kwadwo Asamoah is the Best Player in Ghana at the moment. I can see that the Andre Ayew fans hate Asamoah so much. Omama ho ye ahi. Is that what it is? If Asamoah is that bad as you say, why would Juventus grab him? Jealousy and hatred will destroy you.

  3. Obbie says:

GSN, you should have gone further to tell the Ghanaians that Jacob Mulenga of Zambia scored the equalizer for FC Utretch. Mulenga brings power, speed, accuracy and intelligence to the mighty Chipolopolo. Mulenga and Mayuka are partners in crime hence am asking for Ghana FA to go with the police in SA during Afcon so that they arrest these two criminals after scoring Ghana in the semi final match. Please Ghana, you should bail out them that they play the final against Ivory Coast then Ghana can imprison Mulenga and Ivory Coast should imprison Mayuka. We love these two criminals in scoring goals. with them, bring any team on.

I hardly cant understand this GFA officials under the leadership of Agya nimo..ENGLAND learnt their mistake after lossing victor moses to Nigeria by inviting sterling, jenkison and zaha who are all enligible to play for finland, jamaica and ivory coast respectively.after lossing welbeck and balotelli, what has the GFA learn?memphis depay and Gyasi of twente and psv are all future prospect,so what prevents the lazy GFA from going the England by catching them young?are they waiting for the dutch officials to invite them into ORANGE TEAM before seeing the wisdom to pursue by using their parents? u guys have to be professional for once!
