Referee E.R Biney has vowed never officiate a match involving Kotoko after irate fans attacked him during a League game on Wednesday.

Biney was lucky to have received few slaps after angry fans charged on him during the side’s 1-0 defeat at home to Heart of Lions.

Fans of the defending League champions were incensed with the performance of the centre referee after he awarded a penalty to the visiting team-  a decision which resulted in the only goal of the match.

The referee needed police escort to escape the wrath of the supporters as he left the venue trembling with fear.

He has vowed never to officiate games involving the Porcupine Warriors alleging team manager Godwin Ablordey and chief supporter Ali Maradona instigated the assault.

"The kind of heavy slaps I received after the game, its only God that has been gracious to me that I made it to the office today,” he told Kumasi-based Angel FM

"This is not the way they should be honouring referees and me I will never officiate  matches in Kumasi".

"Even if I took a decision that you were not happy with then you have so many channels to express your grievances because there is the review committee and the match was even live on television".

“They pushed us into the tunnel and started beating us with one fans hitting my left arm with a metal causing me some bruises".

"I will blame (Godwin) Ablodey because he was inciting the players and fans during and after the game whiles Ali Maradona was also there in the tunnel".

The defeat has seen Kotoko's lead cut to eight with 8 games to end the season.
