Ghanaian numerologist Prof. Oti Asirifi hits back at critics

Professor Oti Asirifi predicted Ghana will not win the 2013 AFCON title

By Akyereko Frimpong Manson

Professor Oti Asirifi has taken a swipe at Ghanaian fans who attacked him on Ghanasoccernet.com following his prediction on the 2013 AFCON.

The University of Cape Coast numerology Professor predicted doom for Ghana by stating the four-time African champions cannot end their 31-year-old trophiless run in South Africa.

He revealed numerological events favour countries in Group C (Zambia, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia) to win the AFCON title.

True to his predictions, Burkina Faso eliminated Ghana to book in the grand finale date with Nigeria also from Group C.

After the Black Stars’ failures, the outspoken Professor feels vindicated.

“All the people who dissed and attacked me on Ghanasoccernet.com have now had me right,” he told Accra-based Happy FM.

Records from the competition show that with the exception of Cameroon, Egypt and Nigeria who won the competition in 1988, 1998 and 1994 respectively, all past winners have come from either Group A or C.

He also claimed numerological events favour Ghana to qualify for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

“However, there is good news for Ghana – which is that the Black Stars will qualify for the World Cup. The Zambians are just making noise. Ghana will qualify ahead of them.”

Ok you won the Afcon prediction. Am waiting for Brazil 2014.

  2. Chu says:

You are killing the zombies. I think I know how we can win the afcon. All current players of the national team should organise and give what is due the past winners if the GFA would not. So that we can appease this issue which I belive is affecting us. Or we wait till their death which would be 20 and ?? Only God knows when.

  3. kwame Pito says:

wow unbeliveable! so we have all these people in Ghana and we are not using their human resource?
Why dont we send him to work at Ghana Meteorological service so that he can predict Weather?
Go to Mataheko, Unexpected rainfall is always destroying market. oh Ghana ppl when will we use our human resources. :-D

    • wut says:

you need to solve a lot of partial differential equations by linearizing them and eliminating terms of the same order before you can come up equations that would model the atmosphere and thus be able to solve them numerically (need some super computers) and them predict the weather. So it is not as simple as opening your mouth and predicting weather.

  4. Pinto says:

To Chu…i totally agree!!..this is something ive been saying bt no one is listening…we need to appease the retired footbalers hu killed themselves for this ungrateful country n got nothing in return excpt tea kettles..they r the ones holding us bak..because deep down thy dnt want any other team to make it otherwise well forget abt them n never gv them wat is due..it amazes me to think we can gv millions of dollars to one man n his family hu av done nothing fr the country as judgemnt debt n we cannot commit just a lil ova 500000 dollars to settle the retired footballers??…until we do this we might never gt tht cup bak!..

  5. cool says:

The Ghana team is fairly ok and could have won the game agaist B/Faso.We have a lot of talent around the world and in Ghana to beat anybody. Our main problem is organization/management and this starts with the coach/GFA.Why did the coach decide to make Gyan a captain?and at one point during the tournament claimed Gyan was one of the best srikers in Africa.(one goal in 5 matches)Jordan Ayew,Clottey, B. Yiadom could have done better because they have the skill something Asamoah Gyan lacks. Please let put our skifull playes on the field and stop the bias in selecting players

  6. lalasu says:

the professor is trying to be like the octopus

  7. alechebee says:

Akwasi has no tactics n am surprise maxwell konadu watched him repeat that clueless tactics in the first game. How on earth do u allow ur pusher, skimmer n player maker play left back oh Akwai u deserve to learn frm all ur games as fr rio we will be there if James is in charge bt will cum home in group stages

  8. RASKITO says:

GH COULD VE DONE BETER IF DE COACH N GFA WERE FAIR TO THEMSELVES N DE NATION BY SENDIN QUALIFY PLYAS BT NOT LOCAL PLYAS

  9. Prophecy says:

There will be 2 countries who will qualify to the 2014 W/Cup for the very first time.

  10. SURVIVOR says:

If Numerical predictions determined outcomes then we don’t need to work hard. It’s sheer coincidence that has happened.
I agree past footballers who killed themselves for the nation must be appeased.
Lets not begin to spiritualise football too much else the players will believe that their output depends on the third force(though in life u must believe in God to give you the push).
But the main crust lies in Management, Technical acumen of the coach and 100% on the players kicking the ball.
Our players need a military mentality.Unless they get that right forget about any cup.

  11. Kudjo says:

Professor are we gona at least win Bronze or what????
