It took the individual brilliance of Ghanaian midfielder King Osei-Gyan to claim a narrow 1-0 victory for Viking against an ambitious Stromsgodset side in the Norwegian top-flight.
Viking’s season has been on and off and they needed the maximum points at stake to emphasize their readiness to contest for an European spot but beating Stromsgodset was a difficult task.
Stroms, the visitors at the Viking Stadion featured Ghana duo Adam Kwarasey and Bismark Adjei-Boateng in their line-up while defender Razak Nuhu started from the bench.
Adam Kwarasey was called to duty on a number of occasions in the first half as he had to pull world class stops to deny Viking for taking the lead.
Stroms also had their chances but the failed to convert but Osei-Gyan made his count for Viking as he powered home a classy drive to seal the points for the host.
