Ghanaian midfielder Gabriel targets league glory in Ethiopia

Posted On Tuesday, 25th December 2012

Gabriel Ahmed is confident Dedebit FC can win the Ethiopian league title

Former Wise XI midfielder Gabriel Ahmed believes Dedebit FC’s hard work will pay off at the end of the Ethiopian league season.

The 24-year-old moved to the Addis Ababa-based side from Swedish second-tier side, Jönköpings Södra, two seasons ago and helped them to finish in a Confederations Cup place.

Gabriel has featured in all nine games for Dedebit who are lying second in the Ethiopian Premier League, just a point adrift of leaders Awassa Kenema.

The Tamele-born box-to-box midfielder is confident Dedebit can claim their first title on the top flight.

“The season has gone well for us and we hope to keep our performance throughout the season and I’m very sure we can win the league at the end of the season,” he said.

Gabriel is hoping to use the Ethiopian top flight league to relaunch his career in Europe.
