Mohammed Awal-Issah set for AmaZulu return

AmaZulu midfielder Mohammed Awal-Issah is expected to return to the country from Ghana within the next week to face a disciplinary hearing that will determine whether he still has a future at the club.

Awal-Issah went AWOL in November after starting just two games for Usuthu since his return last July.

According to his agent, Mike Makaab of ProSport International, the 27-year-old will hopefully return within the next couple of days.

“Unfortunately with Issah he did the wrong thing by returning to Ghana to attend to personal issues without permission from the club,” Makaab tells KickOff.com.

“He is still in Ghana for now, but will hopefully will be coming back within the next week. Once he is back there will be a DC hearing.”

Makaab adds: “He violated his contract so that will be discussed. For now there isn’t much that we can do until he is back, but I am really surprised that he did what he did considering that he is such a sensitive boy.”

Usuthu appear to have already decided to plan ahead without Awal-Issah after signing Nhlanhla Shabalala andJohn Arwuah – two midfielders who also play in central midfield like the Ghana midfielder.
