Ghanaian forward David Accam insists he is not overly worried by his consistent snub from the Black Stars team.

The 23-year-old has not been called up into the national team since his debut invite in March during the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Accam’s consistent snub by coach Akwasi Appiah remains a surprise to several Ghanaian football fans following the winger’s consistent displays at club level with Helsingborg.

But the Right to Dream Academy graduate concedes there are several quality Ghanaian players competing for limited places in the Black Stars.

And for that reason, he couldn’t be too worried by his lack of opportunities with the side.

“I don’t really think about that because there are a lot of good players in Ghana who are playing in Europe,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“So it takes something extra for you to get into the team and for now maybe the coach thinks he doesn’t need me but I know if I keep working hard I will get the chance again.”
