Ghanaian forward David Accam feels he had a good season with Helsingborg despite the disappointing finish of his club in the Swedish top flight.

The 23-year-old scored 12 goals in 27 appearances for the Reds in the just ended Allsvenskan.

Helsingborg however finished a disappointing 5th despite their rich history in the Swedish top flight – where they have won the championship seven times.

But the yet-to-be-capped Ghana forward believes he improved in the season gone by with his only disappointment being the 5th place finish of his club.

“Personally I had a good season but for the team it wasn’t good because we are a big team in Sweden and everyone expected us to be in the top three bit we didn’t,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“But personally for my development, I did very well, scored 12 goals the whole season playing from the wings.

“And also being named in the team of the year so for me personally I did really well.”
