Ghanaian fans waiting for the big welcome of the gallant Black Maidens

The Black Maidens are expected home on Monday evening

Ghanaian soccer fans are awaiting the arrival of the country’s Under-17 Women’s team after their bronze winning feat at the recently concluded Fifa Under-17 Women’s Championship.

The Black Stars beat Germany 1-0 to grab a historic bronze in Azerbaijan on Saturday.

The team is expected to touch base at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra at 19:30 GMT (7:30 local time).

The technical team and the players are expected to get a royal welcome as fans troop to the airport to await their arrival.

Ghana made history by becoming the first African country to win a medal at the Fifa Under-17 Women’s world championship and the memory will etch on the players for years to come.
