Posted On Wednesday, 30th January 2013

Emmanuel Baffour is still with Mamelodi Sundowns

Contrary to recent reports that Mamelodi Sundowns have axed their two Ghanaian players, Mumuni Abubakar and Emmanuel Baffour are still with the club.

There were reports that the two Ghanaian players were on the verge of being released by the club because they have not lived up to standard since arriving there in June.

According the a report in the South African media the Ghana pair of Abubakar and Baffour who are to be offloaded by the club anytime soon.

But the two players have travelled with the South African club on their one-week training tour of Zimbabwe.

The Brazilians can only register foreign players next season as they have already exhausted their foreign quota of five players for this season.

This means if they are keen on signing two foreign players Rashid Sumaila and Togolese wing-back Emmanuel Mathias they must release the Ghanaian duo.

Abubakar and Baffour have so far proven to be flop signings with both yet to make any contribution at the club since their arrival in July.

The report that Abubakar and Baffour are to be offloaded has sparked some Ghanaian team into action as they are seeking to sign them.
