Awal Mohammed set to have a new coach in South Africa

Ghanaian duo Awal Mohammed and Frank Sarfo Gyamfi will have a new coach at  Mariztburg United with Clinton Larsen set to take over.

Larsen will take over the Team of choice following his exit from Bloemfontein Celtic due to a poor start to the season.

The club is expected to make an official announcement on Tuesday, with Larsen seeming to have beaten Boebie Solomons and Manqoba Mngqithi to the vacant position.

Ironically, Ernst Middendorp left the head coaching role at Maritzburg to replace Larsen in the Free State, and the latter has now come in to replace him.

Larsen spent three years with Phunya Sele Sele where he kept Celtic in the top eight and lifted the Telkom Knockout last season.

He faces a stiff task at Maritzburg with the team having endured a mixed start to their campaign and they are currently ninth place with eight points from six games.
