Phil Ofosu-Ayeh wants Black Stars chance

German-based Phil-Ofosu Ayeh has told GHANAsoccernet.com he can establish himself as the country’s right-back if given the opportunity.

The 22-year-old has been impressive for German lower division side MSV Duisburg with his surging runs on the flanks which has caught the attention some stellar clubs in Europe.

The strong cum attacking minded defender says he will work hard to catch the eye of the Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah ahead of the World Cup in June.

"If you ask any Ghanaian player, they have got one eye on the World Cup," he told GHANAsoccernet.com

"First and foremost I am going to have to work hard on the pitch. It’s only when you work hard that your performance will speak for itself.

“It doesn’t matter if one is playing in a lower division. What is important in my humble view is the performance and your ability.

“I am keeping an eye and working hard and hopefully if the chance presents itself, I will take it. It may be now or in the near future. I am still keeping my hopes alive."

Ofosu-Ayeh has courted a number of interests from clubs in Belgium and Portugal following his sterling displays for the German division side.

He can technically play for either Germany or Ghana but he has always indicated his desire to represent the West African powerhouse at the international level.
