Ghanaian youngster Zakaria Abdullai says he is not aware of Gefle’s decision not to renew his contract when it expires in 2014.

Reports have emerged the 23-year-old is on his way out of the Swedish club after failing to pin down a regular first team spot.

Reports in Sweden suggest the former Tudu Mighty Jets player’s contract will not be renewed when it expires in 2014.

But the Ghanaian midfielder says he has not been informed of by the club of such a decision.

“I don’t know where these reports are coming from, I finished training only to be called in to answer to these reports,” Abdullai told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“It therefore cannot be true that the club has taken such a decision even though it is a normal thing in football.

“I have over a year left on my current contract so it will premature to start talking about a renewal or otherwise.”

Abdullahi has a year more to run on his existing deal at Gefle.

The midfielder has played six games so far this term in the Swedish top flight.
