Ghana youth international midfielder Thomas Partey has joined his new team-mates in Thailand as the Spanish club continue their pre-season in the Southeast Asian country.

Partey, 21, signed for Los Rojiblancos on a season-long loan deal from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid last week to enable him continue his development regular first team action.

The former Tema Youth man joined the Almeria squad in Madrid on Thursday before they enplaned to Bangkok where they are continuing their pre-season.

"I joined them on Thursday and things have been going smooth here. I played in the first friendly match and I hope to earn more playing time in the pre-season," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

The lanky midfielder has limited experience from playing in the Spanish top-flight but enjoyed a regular action while at Real Mallorca in the Segunda Division last season as he made over 40 appearances and grabbed five goals.

"Last season went well in the sense that I played more games at Mallorca. Now here is a different level for me and I must prove my worth in the squad," he added.
