Ghana winger Yartey in race to be fit for Sochaux trip to Evian TG

Posted On Friday, 8th March 2013

Sochaux is waiting on the fitness of winger Ishmael Yartey who twisted his left leg two weeks ago

Ghana winger Ishmael Yartey must pass a late fitness test to be available for Sochaux’s trip top Evian Thonon Gailard in the French Ligue 1.

The 23-year-old twisted his left foot during Sochaux’s Coupe de France 2-1 defeat to Troyes last month and sat out of the home loss to Nancy last weekend.

Sochaux doctors conducted test on the left leg on Friday morning and the former FC Servette playmaker was given injection to speed up his recovery process.

Sochaux boss Eric Hely will wait till late on Friday to see if he can include the 2007 Ghana U17 star winger in his final squad for the trip.

“I have not been able to train for the past four days or so and I’m waiting on what the doctors will say. I took an injection in the morning,” Yartey told Ghanasoccernet.com.

Yartey played an impressive role for Sochaux despite their Coupe de France exit last month.
