Solomon Asante has heaped praise on ‘father’ Maxwell Konadu for given him a starting role in the Black Stars 3-1 win over Guinea in the qualifying reverse of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Asante, who plays for DR Congo side TP Mazembe, replaced Christian Atsu and used his trickery and pace to outwit the defenders of the Syli Nationale at the Tamale stadium.

The 24-year-old has thanked the caretaker coach for reposing confidence in him

“It was a very good game for and I have the technical team of the Black Stars to thank for giving me that chance to prove myself to the entire nation,” he said

“Maxwell has been like a father to me and he knows my qualities very well so I wasn’t that surprised when I heard my name in the starting XI.

“I knew that I had to justify and make a name for myself and I thank God that I did not disappoint.”
