Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi is confident that the Black Stars will put up a headline-grabbing performance at the 2014 World Cup finals that will see them go past the knockout stages.

The mild-mannered administrator believes the quarterfinal feat chalked at the last tournament in South Africa will be bettered in Brazil this June.

Ghana are in a difficult Group alongside USA, Germany and Portugal which could see them take any early shower at the tournament.

But Nyantakyi is defiant and has promised all and sundry that the Black Stars are set to make history.

“We made it to the round of 16 in our first appearance. Then in South Africa we made a step up. Now let me tell you what will happen if we wriggle our way out of the Group of Death, No one can find us,” Nyantakyi said.

Ghana will begin preparations for the tournament with a friendly against Montenegro next month.

They will also be tested by the Netherlands in Rotterdam on 31 May before heading to Los Angeles, USA where they will play Costa Rica and Honduras.

U see these are some of the things our officials has been doing and saying that has made us trophyless for more than three decades without knowing when it ll end!! If an official who can be considered as an expert in football matters just popped out to say such a ridiculous thing knowing very well his empty rheotrics will put pressure on the team, then it simply means that person is clueless and should be treated as such!!! To reach the finals of the biggest theater of the world is not about sitting in your office after hefty breakfast and then you start to yupp and yakk but rather is about preparations, determination and hatdwork

  2. Nana says:

Kofi the boss ,you are clueless in the game you need to increase your swagger in the game, you hve the money but you are not smart, how can you camp in USA? Am sorry we the players and ok coach but you guys are not helping them

  3. Apiagalege says:

Bragging and boastfulness may end up winning the trophy for Ghana;who knows.I ve not heard Germany,Portugal or USA being as loquacious as the GFA s been. They are working and preparing quietly and won’t be surprised when they end up doing better than the noisy empty barrel

  4. Nii Kwatei says:

I don’t even think we’ll win the Africa Cup next year, let alone the World Cup.
