Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu claims his players are penalty experts ahead of their CHAN final match against Libya.

The Black Stars will be facing the North Africans for the second time in the tournament on Saturday.

Ghana rode its luck in the penalty shootout win over Nigeria in the semi finals to make a second appearance in the grand finale of the CHAN tournament since its inception in 2009.

Maxwell Konadu’s team played out a tough 1-1 draw in their first meeting with Libya at the group stage of the competition.

And the ex Asante Kotoko trainer believes his team already have the upper hand if the final goes into the lottery of a shootout on Saturday in Cape Town.

“If it comes to penalties then I can assure you that we will win the cup because we know the work we have done [in that area],” he told Metro FM.

“When it comes to penalties the Libyans cannot match us.

“But football being what it is, anything can happen but we are determined to win this trophy.”

Ghana will be without one of its penalty experts in defender Kwabena Edusei who is suspended for the finals after his sending off in the semi final win over Nigeria.

The home-based Black Stars stand a chance of ending a staggering 32-year wait for a title triumph at senior level.
