Lionel Messi wins the Ballon D'Or for a record fourth time

Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah and captain Asamoah Gyan both voted for Lionel Messi for the 2012 FIFA Ballon D’Or award.

The Argentinean won the award for a record fourth time at a glamorous event held in Zurich on Monday night.

Messi beat Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta of Spain to the prestigious accolade.

It has now been revealed that coach Akwasi Appiah voted for Lionel Messi, Robin Van Persie and Cristiano Ronaldo in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd order respectively.

While captain Asamoah Gyan vote in the same order for Messi, Yaya Toure and Wayne Rooney.

TV3′s Michael Oti-Adjei’s who voted as Ghana’s media representative voted Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta also in the same order.
