Ghana U23 coach Malik Jabir has decided to exclude foreign-based players from his squad to face Liberia on Sunday in their 2016 Olympic Games qualifier first leg tie.

GHANASoccernet.com understands the players abroad failed to impress and that has forced the technical team to take a decision to leave them out.

Two weeks ago, players Isaac Horny, Yussif Raman Chibsah and Roda JC’s Raymond Gyasi helped the Black Meteors to overhaul a 1-0 first defeat to Mozambique with a 2-0 win at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

Jabir believes in the locally-based players and will work to get the best out of the them especially New Edubiase United's Latif Anabilla who has showed prospects of playing top-tier football.

“I think the technical team realized that it is impossible to have these foreign based players for the match because it is not sanctioned by FIFA and clubs are not obliged to released them,” a source told GHANASoccernet.com

The team have been training in Tamale, venue for the match.
