Ghana U20 secure Acheampong "Messi" for African Youth Championship

In-form Anderlecht whiz kid Frank Acheampong will play for Ghana at next month's 2013 African Youth Championship in Algeria.

Officials of the Black Satellites have confirmed to MTNFootball.com his Belgian side have agreed to release him for the three week tournament.

"The only player who was able to help with the qualification and we are also happy to announce that we will get him is Frank Acheampong," Ghana U20 chairman George Afriyie has confirmed.

Acheampong scored two goals in the 4-1 victory of the final round first leg qualifier against Morocco at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

The 18-year-old has been in top form and on Monday scored two goals which won Anderlecht the 2013 Viareggio Cup in their 3-0 win over AC Milan.

He has joined Anderlecht on loan from Thai Premier League club Buriram United.

Acheampong-who played for King Faisal and Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League-is yet to make his debut in the Belgian Jupiler League.
