Ghana coach Sellas Tetteh says his side will put lessons from the just ended African Youth Championship to good use at this yearââ¬â¢s FIFA U20 World Cup.
The Black Satellites missed their target of winning the competition for the fourth time but convinced all with the bronze medal.
A 3-1 win over Mali on Sunday was deemed satisfactory by the 2009 winning coach.
ââ¬ÅThis is a victory for Ghana. It was a satisfactory result and we worked very hard. We have come a long way but I wonââ¬â¢t take anything away from the Malians,â⬠Tetteh said in his post-match interview.
ââ¬ÅThey showed how good they are even when they were down by three goals. We have learnt a lot of lessons competitively.
ââ¬ÅFortunately, we played against some physical sides at the tournament. We have seen our weakness and strong points.
ââ¬ÅThe African U-20 Championship has always been a preparatory ground for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. With what we exhibited here, with a little effort we should be ready for the World Cup.ââ¬
Ghana will play South American giants Argentina, Panama and Austria at the tournament in New Zealand.
