Ghana coach Sellas Tetteh says his side will put lessons from the just ended African Youth Championship to good use at this year’s FIFA U20 World Cup.

The Black Satellites missed their target of winning the competition for the fourth time but convinced all with the bronze medal.

A 3-1 win over Mali on Sunday was deemed satisfactory by the 2009 winning coach.

“This is a victory for Ghana. It was a satisfactory result and we worked very hard. We have come a long way but I won’t take anything away from the Malians,” Tetteh said in his post-match interview.

“They showed how good they are even when they were down by three goals. We have learnt a lot of lessons competitively.

“Fortunately, we played against some physical sides at the tournament. We have seen our weakness and strong points.

“The African U-20 Championship has always been a preparatory ground for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. With what we exhibited here, with a little effort we should be ready for the World Cup.”

Ghana will play South American giants Argentina, Panama and Austria at the tournament in New Zealand.
