Ghana’s U17 women’s team have been hit with serious injury problems ahead of their opening World Cup qualifier against Congo Brazzaville.
Lethal striker Jane Ayieyam and forward Alberta Ahialey are amongst the current crocked players in the team.
Priscilla Mensah and Priscilla Adoubia are also on the treatment table ahead of Ghana’s first leg clash for next year’s World Cup.
The worsening injury situation is threatening to disrupt the plans of coach Evans Adotey who is now awaiting help from member of the Ghana FA’s medical team Prince Pambo.
“We are experiencing some serious injury problems,” Adotey told Metro FM.
“Already Priscilla Adoubia, Jane Ayieyam and goalkeeper Azumi are all on the injury list.
“We sustained even more injuries in our recent trial game with Priscilla Mensah and Alberta Ahialey.
“We await Dr Pambo to assess them to see the degree of damage of the various recorded injuries in camp.”
Ghana will be hosting Congo Brazzaville in the first leg match of the qualifiers for the World Cup to be hosted next year by Costa Rica next weekend in Accra.
