Ghana Under-17 female striker Jane Ayiayem says she will use her world cup bonus to build a house for her mum.
The 16-year-old excelled heavily at the recently concluded Fifa Under-17 Women’s World Cup where she scored four goals.
She missed the third-place play-off against Germany after she picked up a red card during their semi-final defeat to eventual winners France.
Each member of the squad pocketed $70,000 and the impressive attacker says she use the money to help educate her siblings and build a nice home for her family.
“I want to thank God for what he has done for us. I use the money to cater for my siblings in school and also build a house for my mum.
“They (family) have been very supportive. My mum has done so much for us and I think she deserves more than that.”
Ayiayem will graduate to play for the Black Princesses.
U GO GIRL,ALL THE BEST
Is this a story to tell. We are reading soccer update and you are bringing some player personal issues. This type of information is unnecessary and stupid.
jack, shut ur mouth if you cannot think straight. what if GSN told you the same thing about an Argentine boy called Messi, or a Portuguese called Ronaldo? will you said the same thing?
foolish people like kill our national heros before their time.
wise up and be counted among the wise.
Infact, ghanafuo can talk!!! the girl is a footballer so what do you mean, Osei, by ‘we are reading soccer updates and you are bringing some personal issues’. Over here in Europe what footballers do even in their bedroom is news. They are public figures and there is nothing personal about them anymore.
Osei u are big fool.
This story is misleading in terms of the amount being quoted here. $70,000.00???? Not true. Please check and help the young lady lower her expectations because they are getting close to $7,000.00 and not $70,000.00.Please check the facts and report accurately. This is misleading and it will bring so much expectations on the young girls. It is unnecessary to create this kinna mess for them.
GSN and so what? we don’t care even if she buys lion for her mom
FOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!
Go ahead and do what is in your heart to do for mummy and God will bless you big time. but for FIFA’s mafiaism carried out through that stupid Jamaican ‘ganja’ referee you could have goal queen of the tourney.
you are more honorable the referee herself and l commend you for the way you comported yourself when you were red carded, keep on like that and it shall be well with you.
Yes. It is honorable to help your family. However, please save some of your earnings for future endeavors. Football cannot be played forever. In fact, when you get to the United States on your football scholarship, it will not cover all your expenses and you have to study. You can help your family for a longer period of time with education and good savings habits. All athletes should watch the ESPN documentary “Broke” and see what happens to some millionaire athletes who do all for their family and when they need help, all are gone. A word to the wise is enough.
gud
may god bless u.
