Ghana U-20 justify postponed due to unavailable training ground

Published on: 10 June 2012

The justify-your-inclusion exercise for the foreign-based players of the Ghana U-20 team has been postponed due to the unavailability of the training ground.

Nineteen players had been invited to take part in the exercise to augment the team filled with local stars ahead of next month’s qualifier for the African Youth Championships against Ugandas.

The three-day exercise which was supposed to have commenced on Saturday, June 9 had to be postponed because there were other occupants on the Legon Presec training pitch by the time the team got there.

According to GHANAsoccernet.com sources, the Ghana FA had not properly secured the grounds for their exercise and therefore had to leave while some other team uses the facility.

The exercise is now expected to start on Monday morning.

The Black Satellites need massive revamping after series of unimpressive results.

The team failed to progress from the Group stage at the just ended eight-nation Cape Town Invitational Friendly Tournament.
