Ghana surge on FIFA ranking ahead of AFCON

Posted On Thursday, 17th January 2013

Black Stars are ranked 26th in the world Africa and fourth on the continent

Ghana have moved four places up in the latest FIFA ranking released for the month of January.

The Black Stars climbed from last year’s 30th placeto 26 but remained the continent’s fourth best nation.

Ghana amassed 788 points on the table but stayed behind their Nations Cup Group B opponents Mali who maintained their world ranking in 25th position.

The four-time continental champions beat Egypt and Tunisia last week in pre-Nations Cup friendlies.

Ivory Coast still remained the best ranked Africa country after an unchanged 14th place on the FIFA ranking.

Algeria, who face Ivory Coast, Togo and Tunisia in Group D, slipped three places down to 22nd but held on to second spot on the continent.

What did Ghana do to rank behind Mali and Algeria besides not winning the African cup, which ivory coast failed to do, we lost to zambia, so was Ivory coast. Caf and fifa both corrupt and hayatu need be voted out or he brides these corrupt various FA presidents to continue voting him on.
