Ghana-Sudan Nations Cup Group decider fixed for 8 October

Posted On Thursday, 15th September 2011

Ghana's line-up that played Swaziland in a Nations Cup qualifier in March

Ghana will play Sudan in the final 2012 Nations Cup qualifier on 8 October at 13:00 GMT, the Confederation of African Football confirmed on Thursday.

The match will be played in Khartoum and the winner will top Group I but Ghana need a draw to remain leaders.

The Black Stars are tied on points with Sudan but lead Group I with superior goal difference.

Sudan held Ghana to a surprise goalless draw at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi last October.

Goran Stevanovic and his troops are expected to hold camp in Kenya ahead of travelling to Khartoum.

The other Group match between Congo and Swaziland will be played on the same date and time.

Caf announced that the last matches in the qualifiers in each group will kick off at the same time as stated in article 4.3.3 of the competition regulations.

Need a draw?Massa we should be able to beat the Sudanese hands down, player invitation for this game should purely be on merit.Averages players like Tagoe,Lee Arday and Adiyiah should be seen no where the B/S.They should be allowed to concentrate on their club careers, they have no business in the B/S as things stands now.

It’s good we’ll be camping in Kenya. Sometimes i marvel at how far our FA has come from the days when government use to nominate a chairman. I thank God those days are over. Look at what is happening in Maputo with the National Sports Authority.
