Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris will return to training next week

Black Stars striker Abdul Majeed Waris will resume training with Spartak Moscow early next week.

The 21-year-old suffered a muscle strain after he had scored the opener and set up Pavel Yakovlev for the second in Spartak Moscow’s 3-2 friendly win over Norwegian side Stromsgodset.

Waris was forced off the pitch in the 19th minute and has not been able to attend training sessions.

Spartak doctors performed scan on the thigh of the former Swedish Allsvenskan golden shoe winner on Tuesday.

Though the former Right to Dream Academy graduate will know the extent of the results of the scan later on Wednesday, he is expected to resume training early next week.
