Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris has revealed he prefers to stay in France beyound his six-month loan deal at Valenciennes.

The 22-year-old arrived in January on loan from Russian club Spartak Moscow.

Waris’ club career took a bit of a dive after moving to Russia on the back of an impressive campaign with BK Hacken where he emerged the top scorer in the Swedish top flight in 2012.

The Ghana international appears to have rediscovered his hot form in France – scoring four goals in eight starts for Valenciennes.

Waris now says he will want to stay beyound his loan spell in France but admits the final decision is Spartak Moscow’s to make.

“Now that I am in France I really like it here,” The Black Stars striker disclosed.

“I would like to stay for a bit longer, but I am only supposed to be here for 6 months and Spartak do still own me.

“So I just have to continue working hard and see what happens in the next 6 months.”
