Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris is set to mark his Russian Premier League debut for Spartak Moscow on Saturday
Ghana forward Abdul Majeed Waris has been passed fit and is set to mark his Russian Premier League for Spartak Moscow on Saturday.
The 21-year-old joined the Moscow giants from Swedish Allsvenskan side BK Hacken where he won the golden shoe award last season.
Waris had his pre-season stalled after he picked up an injury in a friendly game against Norwegian side Stromsgodset last month.
The Black Stars striker returned to full scale training last week and been included in coach Valeriy Karpin’s final 18-man squad for their home test against Terek Grozny on Saturday.
“I’m fully fit now and ready for the first game. I hope all go well on my debut for the club because this is a different environment and I have new ambitions,” he told Ghanasoccernet.com.
Waris bagged three goals in pre-season games last month.
