Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris is in talks to secure a return to mainland Europe from Spartak Moscow.

The 22-year-old has revealed talks are underway for him to move back to Europe on loan.

Waris wants to remain active during the long break in the Russian top flight due to terrible weather conditions.

The Ghana international’s time in Russia has been blighted by injuries and relative lack of regular first team action.

The Right to Dream Academy graduate is now negotiating a deal to return to mainland Europe where he once made his name with Swedish club BK Hacken.

“There are some opportunities for me to move back to mainstream Europe so we are discussing it,” he told GTV’s Stage Africa show.

“I cannot reveal the identity of the club but there are talks so we wait to see.”

The Russian top flight will resume three months into the new year and the Ghana international is desperate to maintain his sharpness ahead of the World Cup in June.
