Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris believes the Black Stars will continue their dominance over USA by beating them at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.

The Black Stars have not lost to the Yankees in their two previous meetings in 2006 and 2010 and will open the Group G campaign on 16 June in Natal.

USA are seeking revenge after an Asamoah Gyan extra-time goal condemned them to a 2-1 round 16 defeat in South Africa four years ago.

Head coach Jurgen Klinsmann is determined to lay Ghana’s bogey to rest in Brazil.

But Waris, who has hit a rich-vein of scoring form in the French Ligue 1, is predicting another defeat for the Americans.

“I don’t think they have a chance of getting a win against us,” Waris told FourFourTwo.

“We will fight for what we want. I think we are going to beat them - it won’t be easy but we will win. It won’t be a big scoreline.”

Waris is set to debut at the tournament after playing an influential role in the qualifiers.

The 22-year-old has scored six goals in ten Ligue 1 matches for Valenciennes since arriving from Spartak Moscow on loan in January.
